Industry 4.0 Hub Launch

The new Industry 4.0 Hub was launched on Friday 14th June.

The Hub has been created by a partnership between the Centre, Calderdale College and West Yorkshire Manufacturing Services (WYMS) and £650,000 has been secured to create a state-of-the-art unit which offers companies ‘hands-on’ experience with the latest industrial digital technologies. The Hub will offer a series of Workshops and Seminars to demonstrate how digital technologies can optimise production processes and open up new business opportunities:

  • The Internet of Things (IoT)/Digital Marketing
  • Automating processes and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Immersive Technologies, Virtual and Mixed Reality
  • Live process data analytics with sensors to optimise production efficiencies
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • Digital Simulation
  • Understanding Robotics
  • Additive manufacturing/3D printing

Companies can engage with the Hub in a number of ways:

  • Through the College’s and the Centre’s apprenticeship programmes that will equip students with the latest intelligence about the value digital technologies can bring to manufacturing operations;
  • Through the new ‘i4.0 Champions programme’ – a short, fully funded course;
  • Through specialist workshops – customised support to identify exactly how particular technologies could add value to your business.
  • Through exclusive, dedicated, hands-on sessions here alongside technical experts to address your specific issues and discuss ideas.
  • Through introductions to selected technology solutions with help to put projects together with potential funding sources.
