We are delighted to welcome one of our newest members, Halifax based Avena Carpets.
Avena Carpets is a specialist Brussels Wilton manufacturer which has been around since 1976. Known for producing and supplying high-quality carpets and flooring solutions all around the world including US, Canada and the Middle East as well as here on UK soil.
In recent years, the firm have moved to new premises in Southowram, Halifax. The original looms, archives and associated equipment have been carefully recommissioned to continue the specialist skills and techniques that have been used for generations.
Combining their highly skilled and meticulous processes with more modern-day practises such as CAD technology, they continue to produce these prestigious carpets for the most sought-after exclusive residences all over the world.
Managing Director, Shahban Aziz commented: “Avena Carpets have been working with the Textile Centre of Excellence for many years now, utilising our specialist textile training programmes to help up-skill their staff. We are pleased that this prestigious firm have now become members of the Textile Centre of Excellence to further benefit from our specialist offering.”
Last year, their Apprentice Weaver, Dylan Branter who completed his apprenticeship with us here at the Textile Centre of Excellence, won the prestigious “Lord Barnby Award” issued by The Worshipful Company of Woolmen.
