Our award-winning Textile Manufacturing Skills Bootcamp has become one of the Textile Centre of Excellence’s most sought-after programmes, with previous cohorts oversubscribed and consistently receiving exceptional feedback from learners.
Developed in partnership with leading textile manufacturers, the programme provides a comprehensive understanding of the textile production process, taking learners on a journey from raw fibre through to finished material.
The programme consists of 10 training days spread across several months, allowing learners to develop their knowledge while continuing in their existing roles. Morning sessions focus on specialist textile theory, followed by afternoon visits to working textile businesses where learners can see processes, machinery and production environments first-hand.
Topics include natural, regenerated and synthetic fibres, spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, nonwovens, sustainability, quality and textile testing.
Supported by the textile industry
For the first time, this cohort is being delivered without government funding. Rather than allow such a highly valued programme to come to an end, organisations from across the industry stepped forward to support its continuation.
Thanks to the generous backing of The Weavers’ Company, The Clothworkers’ Company, CapitB Trust and The Woolmen Charity, the programme remains 90% funded.
Cost:
The cost to employers is just £350 + VAT per delegate.
Who is the programme for?
The Skills Bootcamps are suitable for:
- Existing textile employees who want to broaden their industry knowledge
- New employees who would benefit from understanding the wider supply chain
- Individuals interested in beginning a career in textile manufacturing
There are no formal entry requirements, and employees can attend from businesses based anywhere in the UK.

The combination of expert-led teaching and access to working textile businesses makes this programme different from traditional classroom-based training.
For experienced employees, it provides a wider understanding of an industry they may have worked in for many years. For newer employees, it offers the foundations needed to understand the sector and their role within it much more quickly.
