The Role
As a Loom Tuner, you’ll play a vital role in setting up and programming our state-of-the-art Dornier weaving looms for new design setups. Working closely with a small, skilled team, you’ll ensure every loom is finely tuned to achieve perfect fabric width, pick rate, length, and yarn specifications.
Your expertise will ensure that every fabric produced meets the highest quality standards, from the first pass to the final inspection. You’ll also carry out routine and ad hoc maintenance, helping to keep our looms running smoothly and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, programme, and fine-tune Dornier looms for new design runs.
- Adjust and test machine settings to meet exact design and quality requirements.
- Work collaboratively with weavers to resolve issues and ensure seamless production.
- Support planned and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the mill.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in a similar role within textiles engineering, weaving, or production maintenance.
- Strong mechanical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Hands-on, safety-conscious approach to machinery operation and maintenance.
- A proactive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- A passion for creating beautiful, sustainable fabrics and maintaining exceptional standards.
- A textile-related qualification would be desirable but not essential, what matters most is your skill, initiative, and dedication to quality.
