JOB TITLE: Sewing Production Operative
LOCATION: Castleford, West Yorkshire
JOB PURPOSE
The main purpose is to put your expert industrial sewing machinist skills to use to create high-quality luxury garments for this exciting brand. You will work as part of a bigger team, contributing to daily team targets as well as individual goals. Production Operatives will be committed to ensuring the highest quality standards are achieved and production efficiency maintained. You will bring your flexible approach to provide assistance where required; and be open to learning new operations to help achieve the site’s multi-skilling ambitions. Applicants will be tested at an assessment to gauge skills and strengths.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow instruction and monitor work practices to ensure that our products are made to agreed specifications;
- Adhere to quality procedures following our quality guidelines;
- Ensure continuous production is maintained;
- Operate equipment and machinery in a responsible manner, in line with the Health and Safety Policy;
- Maintain hourly work output paperwork;
- Keep your work area tidy, maintain good housekeeping.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Industrial sewing machinist experience (especially using lockstitch machines)
- Strong work ethic
- Flexibility
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Competent English Language Skills
- Punctuality and commitment to attendance levels to keep production going
HOURS
Monday to Thursday 0630 – 1530, finishing at 1130 on Fridays. There is the possibility of overtime offered to team members who are able to perform to the expected efficiency levels.
USEFUL INFO
This is an initial temporary agency assignment to 31st October, with the possibility of extension depending on work demand.
The site is closed for holidays at certain points in the year, which mean the majority of your annual leave entitlement will be allocated during the designated shutdown periods, such as the Spring Bank holiday week, summer holidays and festive period.
The factory is easily accessible to bus and train links, with free car parking near to the site. Complementary tea, coffee and fruit is available to all team members on a daily basis, as well as other wellbeing and engagement activities such as free fitness classes, a running club and wellbeing walks.
