BENEFITS OF APPRENTICESHIPS FOR EMPLOYERS

Build the skills your business needs with apprenticeship training from the Textile Centre of Excellence. Whether you are recruiting someone new or developing an existing employee, an apprenticeship offers a practical way to strengthen your team while they learn on the job.

TRAINING THAT WORKS AROUND YOUR BUSINESS

Much of our apprenticeship training is delivered at your workplace, allowing employees to develop their skills using the equipment, processes and materials they work with every day. Where specialist facilities are needed, training may also take place at our Centre in Outlane, Huddersfield.

We work with employers to plan training around operational needs and support apprentices as they apply what they learn in their roles.

WHY INVEST IN AN APPRENTICESHIP?
  • Develop relevant skills – training connects learning with the day-to-day needs of your business.
  • Support new or existing staff – recruit new talent or help an eligible employee progress.
  • Access funded training – training and assessment are fully funded for eligible apprentices aged 16–24, up to the funding band maximum. Funding is also available for older apprentices, although an employer contribution may apply.
  • Save on employer National Insurance – eligible apprentices under 25 qualify for a zero employer National Insurance rate on earnings up to £50,270 a year.
  • Access potential hiring incentives – a £2,000 payment may be available to eligible non-levy-paying employers recruiting a new apprentice aged 16–24 from October 2026.
APPRENTICESHIPS SHAPED BY INDUSTRY
