Textile Centre of Excellence joins trade mission to India

The Textile Centre of Excellence has been invited to join a trade mission to India, bringing its internationally recognised textile training expertise alongside some of the North’s most influential leaders and businesses.

Managing Director Shahban Aziz has arrived in New Delhi, joining Mayors Tracy Brabin, David Skaith, Oliver Coppard and Kim McGuinness as part of the delegation.

For TCoE, the visit provides an opportunity to share Yorkshire’s expertise in traditional and advanced technical textile training, develop international relationships and explore opportunities for the Centre and its member companies.

Taking Yorkshire expertise to an international audience

As an industry-owned, not-for-profit training provider, TCoE works closely with employers to develop the skills needed across textile manufacturing and related industries.

The invitation to participate in the mission recognises this expertise and provides a platform to discuss how specialist training can support businesses, strengthen manufacturing capabilities and help develop the next generation of industry professionals.

Joining West Yorkshire Combined Authority, the White Rose Partnership and The Great North, TCoE will explore potential partnerships and commercial opportunities, with a focus on building relationships that could benefit both the Centre and its members.

Fifty years of expertise

The mission comes during TCoE’s 50th anniversary year, marking an important opportunity to build on five decades of supporting employers and developing industry skills.

With its roots firmly in Yorkshire, TCoE continues to look ahead, sharing its knowledge with a wider audience and exploring new ways to connect businesses, people and expertise.
