I have recently completed an apprenticeship with the Textile Centre of Excellence. Starting an apprenticeship at almost 40 was daunting, but it has allowed me to completely retrain and work in a sector that seemed impossible to get into without experience. The coaching and support was incredible from start to finish. My development coach Chrissy always knew how to bring the best out in me and adapted the teaching material to match my learning style. Every visit to the centre I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. At both the centre and workplace visits I learnt valuable skills separate from what I was learning at work.Chrissy always pushed me to be my best and aim high. I am now a qualified sewing machinist, doing the job Iv always dreamed of, with the opportunity to progress. I could not recommend the Textile Centre of Excellence highly enough.
