JOB VACANCY: Quality Assurance Inspector at Camira

Purpose of the role
Continually strive for customer excellence and support Camira’s vision by ensuring the customer and Camira are protected from known or repeat issues. Responsible for ensuring product quality standards are consistently maintained, reducing customer concerns and fabric rejects while ensuring a pro-active approach is taken to customer concerns by carrying out timely inspection and testing on non-conforming products.

The day to day

  • To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements
  • Ensure any poor-quality fabric is contained preventing dispatch to customers, both physically and on the system (including de-allocation) whilst reporting issues to the relevant team in a timely manner thereby reducing impact on the customer.
  • Assist in the management of the inbound and outbound verification processes by effective communication with the goods Inwards, Customer Services, ABMs and Supply Chain teams, including timescales for Quality checks.
  • Complete Quality helpdesk calls in an efficient and timely manner, whilst recording assessment results and maintaining the quality inspection database.
  • Provide support for the customer services, and sales team/s, including customer visits if necessary.
  • Control and manage all stock movements from the warehouse both physically and on the system, whilst maintaining stock accuracy
  • Stock management including containment of faulty stock, issuing returns to suppliers, maintaining minimum quantities in grade 01 and carrying out stock checks of customer returns.
  • To assess raw material or fabric taken out of ‘normal process flow’ due to quality related issues ensuring the highest standard is maintained.
  • Communication to relevant departments with the results of BOF verification assessment & testing and where applicable the effect on our ability to deliver conforming product.
  • Supplier visits where necessary to verify product compliance to meet Camira and our customer’s expectation, including compliance to the tagging procedure
  • Support the CCR process, from receipt of customer concern up to and including effective CCR close out.
  • Address daily activities in a positive manner with a clear focus on Customer Satisfaction, and quality improvement
  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to problem solving, taking the following steps to accountability; See It, Own It, Solve It, Do It.
  • Administer key data ensuring accurate reporting / record keeping is maintained.
  • Lead by example, promoting Camira’s values and behaviours.
  • Such other duties as may from time to time be reasonable required

Other Considerations

  • Experience of fabric inspection and fault identification.
  • Experience of warehouse and stock control processes.
  • Confident computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel / AS400 experience desirable)
  • Understanding of woven textiles, fabric finishes and treatments (desirable).
  • Good colour acuity / recognition (desirable)
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks (lifting rolls)
  • FLT or picker truck licence (advantageous).
