Textile Design Developer
Full Time | £35,000 – £45,000 | Holmfirth, West Yorkshire
At Bower Roebuck & Co. Ltd, we’ve been weaving exceptional cloth for over 125 years. From our mill in New Mill, near Holmfirth, we create luxury worsted fabrics for some of the world’s most prestigious tailoring and apparel brands.
Now, we’re looking for a talented Textile Design Developer to join our collaborative design team and help shape the next generation of innovative woven textiles.

The Role
Working within a small, highly skilled design team, you will support the development of woven fabric collections and bespoke customer projects — from initial concept through to production.
This is a hands-on, detail-driven role where technical knowledge meets creative thinking. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, product development teams, customers and supply chain partners to ensure every fabric meets our exceptional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative woven fabric designs for collections and customer briefs
- Analyse existing woven constructions and create peg plans for new developments
- Work with fibre types and yarn specifications to influence final fabric performance
- Use CAD software to create and refine designs
- Liaise confidently with internal departments and external partners
- Manage multiple projects to challenging timelines
About You
- You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
- Technically strong in woven textile design (worsted experience preferred)
- Experienced within a textile design team environment
- Skilled in CAD design and woven design analysis
- Highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused
- A confident communicator, both written and spoken
- Flexible, accountable and willing to support wider business goals
- A textile design degree is desirable, or equivalent experience demonstrating strong technical capability.
What We Offer

- £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
- 39 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
