We’re on the lookout for curious minds and practical hands to join our Textile Manufacturing Operative Apprenticeship – designed to give you all the essential skills to build a strong and rewarding future in textile production.

The Textile Manufacturing Operative (TMO) Apprenticeship provides a hands-on, practical course, blended with knowledge theory sessions delivered at the Textile Centre in Huddersfield (Outlane HD3 3YJ). It is ideal for the next generation of textile machine operators, as well as aspiring technicians and supervisors who can potentially progress their career further through a number of different career pathways. Apprentices will learn the manufacturing processes, tools and techniques to support a career working with fibre, yarn and fabric. Experience may be gained in a variety of departments such as weaving, warping, dyeing and finishing.

So, who’s this for?
Whether you’re fresh out of college or just fancy a change, this apprenticeship is a perfect fit if:
• You’re new to the textile world or haven’t had formal training (yet).
• You want to learn how fabric gets made and how the machines that make it work.
• You’re 18 or over and ready to get stuck in.

What will we give you?
• You will earn at least £11 per hour during your apprenticeship.
• 6 weeks’ holiday – mostly during our scheduled shutdowns (more time to unwind).
• Auto-enrolled pension via People’s Pension (age rules apply).

• Classroom-based modules held at the Huddersfield Textile Centre of Excellence

• Wrap it all up with a final assessment: a knowledge test and a practical skills session with a discussion.
