Success for Skills Bootcamps – Textile Manufacturing

Last year, we launched a new and innovative programme, Skills Bootcamps – Textile Manufacturing in partnership with Kirklees Council and  “Skills for Life” – an initiative run by the UK government.

This innovative programme has been designed to equip learners with both the technical skills and real-world industry experience essential to textile manufacturing. Developed by industry leaders, the bespoke course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of textile production – from concept to completion – helping them advance within their roles.

In September, we saw our first cohort of learners begin their course – which consisted of a total of 9 days training over a period of 16 weeks. Following the success of the first cohort and the feedback received, we were inundated with requests for a second cohort. Our second cohort began in January 2025 and will be due to complete at the end of March.

During this period we have been audited by the Quality Assurance Lead from Kirklees Council and Chair of Advisory Board for Kirklees Council. The findings of the audit noted a very high-quality programme, with impressive teaching and clear progression from the learners – this meets the needs of the textile manufacturers.

Here are some photos to highlight the variety of manufacturers that have been covered.
