Learner of the Month – January: George Westergaard-Turner at Wooltex

We are delighted to announce George Turner, a Team Leader Apprentice at Wooltex, as our Learner of the Month.

George has been with Wooltex for nine years and began his apprenticeship journey on an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Textiles before progressing onto his current Team Leader Apprenticeship with the Textile Centre of Excellence. Throughout his learning journey, he has shown consistent dedication and professionalism, balancing work and study while continuing to develop his skills and leadership capability.

His tutor, Claire Eaton, commented:
“George has shown outstanding commitment since day one. His progression from his initial apprenticeship into a leadership role is a real credit to his work ethic, attitude, and willingness to learn. He consistently applies what he learns in the workplace and is a fantastic example of what apprenticeships can achieve.”

At the Textile Centre of Excellence, we are proud to celebrate learners like George – and to support employers in developing their workforce. Apprenticeships offer a powerful way to upskill existing employees while also bringing fresh talent into your business, strengthening teams and future-proofing organisations across the industry.
