Role Overview:
As a Mender at Bower Roebuck, you will join a peaceful and focused work environment, where attention to detail is key. After comprehensive training, you will be responsible for managing your own mending perch, where you will inspect and repair luxury woven fabrics before they go for final finishing.

You will work with various types of fabric, colors, and lengths, and identify and correct any faults to ensure our products meet the highest standards. You’ll also assist in logging and investigating quality issues, working closely with the Team Leader where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and mend luxury woven fabrics, removing any faults
  • Log faults and support quality investigations as needed
  • Work collaboratively within a small, dedicated team
  • Take ownership of your mending station, ensuring consistent quality

Skills and Experience:

  • Keen attention to detail, with the ability to identify even the smallest fabric flaws
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
  • Basic communication skills in English (written and spoken)
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Previous experience in fabric mending is a bonus, but we welcome applications from those eager to learn. Full training will be provided for candidates with a passion for textiles and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.

Working Hours and Flexibility:

  • Full time: 39 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 8-hour days, and 7-hour Fridays)
  • Flexibility on start and finish times (starting between 6am and 9am)
  • 30-minute paid lunch break
  • Free parking and access to a reliable bus service

Desirable Qualifications:

  • General secondary education (English and Maths)
  • Textile-related qualifications (not essential but an advantage)
