Knotter / Textile Operative
Based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £28,392 – £30,420 per annum (depending on experience)

Here at Marling & Evans we are looking for a skilled and reliable Knotter to join our experienced production team at our Huddersfield mill.
With a long-standing reputation for producing premium woollen fabrics, Marling & Evans combine traditional craftsmanship with modern textile manufacturing to supply customers across the UK and internationally.
The Role:
As a Knotter, you will play a vital role within the weaving and production process, ensuring yarns are prepared accurately and efficiently to maintain production quality and minimise downtime.
This position requires excellent attention to detail, patience, and the ability to work with precision in a fast-paced textile manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Knotting broken ends and preparing yarns for weaving operations
- Ensuring yarn joins are secure, neat, and production ready
- Supporting the smooth running of weaving and textile production processes
- Identifying yarn faults or inconsistencies and reporting issues promptly
- Maintaining high quality standards throughout production
- Working closely with weaving and production teams
- Following health & safety and operational procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience within textiles, weaving, knotting, or yarn preparation preferred
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to work accurately and consistently
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Pride in producing high-quality work
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous
