Textile Futures returns on Friday 12 June 2026 at the University of Huddersfield, bringing together industry, educators and young people for an inspiring careers event showcasing the innovation, creativity and opportunities within the sector.
With an ageing workforce and growing skills gaps across industry, attracting and engaging the next generation is essential to building the future talent pipeline businesses will rely on tomorrow.
We are delighted to confirm that Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, will attend the event to show support for skills, training and the future of the sector.
The event will also feature a speaker session from Shahban Aziz, our Managing Director, who will discuss the fantastic careers available in our industry.
Shahban Aziz commented:
“Textiles is one of the UK’s most innovative industries, but its future depends on inspiring the next generation to see the incredible careers it can offer. Textile Futures gives companies a powerful opportunity to showcase their brand, innovation and opportunities directly to young people who could become the future of our sector.
As part of the Textile Centre of Excellence’s 50th Anniversary, we’re proud to sponsor exhibition spaces this year, enabling companies to attend free of charge and invest collectively in the future talent pipeline of our industry.”
Delivered by WOVEN in Kirklees in collaboration with the University of Huddersfield, the event will welcome students and educators from schools and colleges across the region, giving businesses the opportunity to showcase their organisation, products and career opportunities directly to young people.
As part of the Textile Centre of Excellence’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, for our members, exhibition stalls within the Industry Innovators Zone are free of charge this year for our members.
