Job Title: Quality Co-ordinator
Department: Compliance
Reports to: Compliance Manager
Hours of work: 8.30am-4.30pm, 37.5 per week
Salary: Circa £37,000
Purpose
Support the company’s Compliance and Quality functions by co-ordinating quality activities across the manufacturing site. Ensure products are manufactured to internal and external specifications by maintaining appropriate quality records and reference standards, in line with company and customer standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Production Support
- Collaborate with Quality Laboratory, Yarn Procurement and Yarn Production on yarn-related performance issues in Warping/Weaving;
- Support Production to upskill supervisors, tuners, and perch operatives in identification of non-conforming work and in fault recognition;
- Monitor quality-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
- Assist with the co-ordination of verified reference standards across all QC points (from yarn to finished fabric);
- Oversee investigations by Production into non-conforming work and its root causes and support integration of appropriate QC gates into SAP;
- Ensure complete, accurate, and timely quality records are maintained as objective evidence of product conformity, process capability, and regulatory/customer compliance.
- Ensure quality data is structured to support traceability, root cause analysis, audit readiness, and management decision‑making.
- Challenge poor data quality and incomplete records, taking corrective action where standards are not met.
- Assist in the analysis of quality trends and of the cost of quality;
Quality Culture & Team Development
- Champion a proactive, site-wide approach to quality, embedding accountability and ownership at all levels.
- Support appropriate personnel involved in quality matters in problem-solving and effective communication.
QMS Development & Compliance
- Support the Compliance Manager in establishing SOPs, process flows, quality control gates, and training into a documented quality management system.
Systems & Digitalisation
- Support migration of paper-based records into SAP and the development of digital tools for near real-time monitoring and reporting.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Centralise reporting and resolution of non-conforming work through root cause analysis, and appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the Compliance Manager in tracking and reporting Quality KPIs (operational and financial) to support SMT & SLT decision-making.
Compliance & Customer Assurance
- Support the Compliance Dept in ensuring readiness and timely responses to product/process non-conformances and to customer-related audits.
