About the role
The Tuner is responsible for the efficient setup, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of weaving textile machinery in accordance with departmental standards. The role focuses on optimising machine performance and fabric quality through proactive troubleshooting, minimising downtime, and supporting production teams in meeting output and quality targets.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
Machine Setup & Adjustment:
- Prepare and tune weaving textile machines (both Dornier and Piconol Rapier, fitted with both electronic Dobby and Jacquard) according to product specifications and production schedules.
- Ensure optimum loom setup, to achieve internal quality standards and meet efficiency goals
Maintenance & Repair:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure machines operate efficiently and safely.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a timely manner.
- Replace worn or defective parts as needed.
Quality Control:
- Monitor product quality during production; make necessary tuning adjustments to correct fabric defects
- Collaborate with other departments and production staff to maintain consistent standards.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain records of machine settings, maintenance work, and performance issues.
- Report persistent mechanical problems to supervisors and recommend improvements.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure machinery is operated safely and securely during tuning and repair
Skills
- Proven experience as a Tuner/Technician in weaving textile manufacturing.
- Full understanding of textile machinery operation and production processes.
- Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Willingness to work shifts/overtime and respond to breakdowns when required

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday 37 hours per week.
