Job Title: Warehouse Operative

Department: Warehouse & Distribution

Reporting to: Warehouse Team Leader

Warehouse Hours of work: 39 hours per week

Monday – Thursday 8am – 4.30pm

Friday 8am – 3.30pm

Band 2 Basic – £12.28 per hour

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our fast-paced warehouse packing and distribution team. If you enjoy a physical job, working independently and being part of a team; this job could be right for you. In this role you will have a varied role dealing with the conversion of technical fabric to final product and the picking and packing of a variety of items that are manufactured within the business and received from external suppliers.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Picking and allocation of fabric products to printed pick lists
  • Packing and labelling products ready for despatch
  • Communication with the sales and production teams to co-ordinate customer orders
  • Regular stock control of dedicated product area, ensuring accuracy and maintenance of housekeeping at all times
  • Reporting and investigation of product stock discrepancies
  • Use of mechanical rolling and folding machines
  • Assistance with goods inwards duties; receipting and booking in of stock
  • Working within team to ensure that the department is continuously improving business standards.

Necessary skills needed for the role:

  • Previous proven experience working in a picking, packing and distribution/goods inwards environment (minimum 1 year).
  • Computer literate, intermediate level (min)
  • Ability to clearly follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Have a strong eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with a variety of departments
  • The capability to remain calm under pressure
  • A flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
  • The ability to prioritise and organise your own workload
  • Basic mechanical experience.

Desirable:

  • Current FLT licence
  • Experience working within a textile manufacturing environment
