Learner of the Month – December: Archie Dibb, J&C Joel

Archie Dibb was our Learner of the Month for December. Archie works as a Material Cutter at J&C Joel Ltd and is currently completing his Materials Cutter Apprenticeship.

Archie joined J&C Joel Ltd after discovering the role online and was looking for a new challenge. “This role stood out to me as it was completely different to other jobs. It’s something I hadn’t done before, and I like the challenge of learning new things,” he explains.

Starting the apprenticeship was a big change, as Archie hadn’t done much learning since school. “Once I got into it, I just got better and better,” he says. “Everything started to piece together, and it helped me realise the importance of my role and how significant a part I play in the manufacturing process.”

Gareth Webster, Archie’s supervisor, commented: “Archie has come on leaps and bounds since starting his apprenticeship. It’s been a real pleasure to see him progress.”

Archie also credits his tutor, Chrisi Robertson: “I’m very much a visual learner, and Chrisi has adapted her teaching style to make sure I fully understand everything.”

Chrisi added: “Archie is a dedicated and motivated learner. He has embraced every opportunity to develop his skills and has shown real growth throughout the apprenticeship. His commitment and attitude make him a very deserving Learner of the Month.”

Looking ahead, Archie is keen to continue developing his skills with the aim of progressing into a supervisor role. With J&C Joel’s ethos of supporting career development, there’s no doubt his learning journey will continue to flourish.
