New member company: David Luke

We are pleased to announce David Luke Ltd as one of our newest member companies.

A Legacy Built on Innovation and Responsibility

Founded in 1982 by David Burgess and Adrian Luke, David Luke Ltd began as a small childrenswear supplier in the North West of England. Over the decades, it has grown into one of the UK’s leading school uniform brands, recognised nationally for its dedication to quality, innovation, and forward-thinking business practices.

Now part of The Parently Group, and led by CEO Kathryn Shuttleworth — daughter of co-founder David Burgess — the company continues to evolve while keeping sustainability at the heart of its mission. Under Kathryn’s leadership, David Luke has embedded environmental and social responsibility deeply into its operations.

Leaders in Sustainable Schoolwear

David Luke has been a pioneer in sustainable textiles, launching the UK’s first school blazers made from recycled polyester sourced from post-consumer plastic bottles over a decade ago. Today, their Eco-Uniform range includes skirts, trousers, polo shirts, and sweatshirts, all produced with environmental stewardship in mind. To date, their initiatives have prevented millions of plastic bottles from reaching landfill, making a tangible impact on waste reduction.

The company’s partnership with the Circular Textiles Foundation further underlines their commitment to a circular economy, with garments designed to be 100% recyclable at end-of-life — a progressive step forward for the schoolwear sector and the wider textiles industry.

Ethical Commitments Beyond Sustainability

In addition to its environmental focus, David Luke is a signatory to the Ethical Trading Initiative, ensuring fair and responsible labour practices throughout its supply chain. Upholding high ethical standards is integral to their business.

We would like to welcome the team at David Luke and look forward to working more closely with them in the near future.
