Edu4Tex provides a platform for manufacturers to engage with secondary schools to provide an insight into career opportunities within the sector.  The Centre works closely with participating companies and a local school to organise a practical project that demonstrates the company operations and provides a programme of learning that complements the students’ curriculum. 

Results from previous programmes have been excellent, raising schools’ and teachers awareness of the many career options available across the sector.  The value of Edu4Tex has been recognised both by companies, who are increasingly addressing the issue of future recruitment, and schools who are required to demonstrate engagement with employers, particularly where the relationships established between individual schools and companies have continued long-term.

A new round of projects in planned, starting in September 2024.
