New TCoE and Bentley Partnership in Delivering Advanced Upholstery Apprenticeships

We’re proud to be delivering a bespoke Level 3 Advanced Upholstery Apprenticeship programme for Bentley Motors, supporting the development of highly skilled craftspeople within one of the UK’s most prestigious automotive manufacturers.

The first cohort of 10 learners began their journey in October 2025, and after just a few months, we’re already seeing the benefits. Learners are developing confidence, applying new skills in real-world settings, and contributing to Bentley’s high standards of craftsmanship.

Prior to launch, teams from both organisations worked closely to shape a programme tailored to Bentley’s exact requirements, ensuring apprentices gain the advanced skills, behaviours, and knowledge needed to succeed in a world-class manufacturing environment. Delivery is being led by experienced tutors Chrisi Robertson and Richard Woodhead, whose expertise continues to guide and inspire the learners.

Martin Jenkins, Director of Training at the Textile Centre of Excellence, said:
“We’re thrilled with the progress our apprentices are making just months into the programme. It’s fantastic to see them applying what they’ve learned on the job and growing in confidence and capability. This partnership shows how bespoke, industry-led training can make a real difference for both the business and the next generation of talent.”

This collaboration marks the start of what we hope will be a long and successful partnership, bringing together specialist training with Bentley’s reputation for excellence in British automotive design and manufacturing. Together, we are already strengthening the workforce while helping to develop the next generation of upholsterers.

We’d like to thank everyone involved in bringing this programme to life and look forward to seeing the continued impact on learners, businesses, and the wider manufacturing sector.
